HDPE/HDLDPE High Density Polyethylene Hard to semi flexible, resistant to chemicals and moisture, waxy surface, opaque, easily coloured, processed and formed, softens at 135̊C. Milk bottles, ice cream containers, shampoo and conditioner bottles, chemical and detergent bottles, buckets, agricultural pipe. Recycling/compost bins, buckets, detergent containers, posts, fencing, pipes. UPVC Unplasticised Polyvinyl Chloride PPVC Plasticised Polyvinyl Chloride Strong, rigid, can be clear, softens at 75̊C. Flexible, clear, elastic. Cosmetic containers, toys, furniture, electrical conduit, plumbing pipes and fittings. Garden hoses, shoe soles, cables, blood bags, watch straps. Flooring, film and sheets, cables, speed bumps, packaging, binders, mud flaps and mats. LDLDPE / LDPE Low Density Polyethylene LLDPE Linear Low Density Polyethylene Soft, flexible, translucent, scratches easily, softens at 80̊C. Hard yet flexible, waxy surface, translucent, softens at 145̊C. Cling wrap, rubbish bags, black irrigation tubes, black mulch film, shrink wrap. Ice cream containers, potato chip bags, straws, garden furniture, automotive parts. Rubbish bin liners, pallet sheets, film for builders. PP Polypropylene Clear, glassy, rigid, brittle, softens at 95̊C. Plastic cutlery, CD cases, low cost brittle toys, video cases, water station cups, safety helmets. Pegs, bins, pipes, pallet sheets, car battery cases. PS Polystyrene EPS Expandable Polystyrene Foamed, light-weight, energy absorbing, thermal insulation. Hot drink cups, hamburger take-away containers, foamed meat trays, insulation panels. Coat hangers, coasters, whiteware, components, stationery trays and accessories. OTHER This code applies to a wide range of plastics including those that are not categorised under codes 1 - 6. Polyurethane (PU) Polycarbonate (PC) Code 7 also refers to plastics; – made up of more than one plastic material – multi-layer plastics – Polyethersulphone (PES) and Copolyester - Such plastics are bisphenol A (BPA) free.
